Library News & Announcements

* Area horror author.

John Everson will visit the Homer Township Public Library on Oct. 20 at 7:00 p.m. to help get Homer Township residents in the spirit of Halloween. John grew up in Tinley Park and now lives in Darien. Over the summer his first occult horror novel, Covenant (Delirium Books, 2004), won the coveted international Bram Stoker Award for a first novel. His win was featured in the Chicago Tribune, Southtown Economist, Star Newspapers and Liberty Suburban newspapers. In addition to this novel, John has published dozens of short stories, some of which are collected his books Cage of Bones & Other Deadly Obsessions (Delirium Books, 2000) and Vigilantes of Love (Twilight Tales, 2003). He also co-edited a ghost story anthology last year for Twilight Tales called Spooks!
John will be reading us a short story or two, and talking about the craft and curious fascination of writing scary stories. So bring your questions about writing fiction and come down for a spooky night around the campfire (sans fire) with John Everson!
