* Early-bird business computer classes.

Through a grant awarded by the Illinois State Library, we are offering a series of free early-morning computer classes. Each session focuses on a specific business-oriented software task and is an hour long. PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and QuickBooks will be covered. The following sessions are scheduled for the next few weeks:

  • Thursday, February 16 ... 7:30 a.m. ... PowerPoint I: Creating a Presentation
  • Tuesday, February 21 ... 7:30 a.m. ... Word I: Creating a Letter
  • Thursday, February 23 ... 7:30 a.m. ... PowerPoint II: More Presentation Features
  • Wednesday, March 01 ... 7:30 a.m. ... Excel I: Creating a Basic Spreadsheet
  • Tuesday, March 07 ... 7:30 a.m. ... Word II: Large Documents
  • Thursday, March 09 ... 7:30 a.m. ... Excel II: Working with Large Worksheets

Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse, opening programs and files in Windows, etc.) are required. See our complete schedule for additional class sessions. To sign up for one or more of these classes, contact the Library. Priority is given to owners and employees of Homer-area businesses.

Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
