Library will waive late fees in April 9th – April 30th
The Homer Township Public Library is celebrating National Library Week by declaring "Amnesty on Fines" from April 9
th to April 30
th, 2007. This means that any materials owned by the Homer Township Public Library that are overdue and returned will have their late fees up to $20.00 forgiven during these days. Amnesty does not apply to materials that have not been returned.
Circulation Supervisor Jody
Studer said, "Sometimes people feel embarrassed about having overdue items. Amnesty gives them an opportunity to return overdue items discreetly by dropping them into one of the library’s two books drops. Patrons can also return items to the circulation desk."
"Getting long overdue materials back is the most important part of the program," Jody said. "Having materials returned makes them available for other people and saves the library money by not having to replace materials."
