* Homer Library Connects with the Arts

''Art is All Around You'' at Homer Township Public Library! ''We are proud to partner with the Lemont Art Guild in conjunction with Illinois Arts Week in keeping art a vital and visible part of daily life,'' notes Sheree Kozel-La Ha, library director. The Homer Library showcases local artists each month and displays a variety of artwork throughout the library.

Dates to remember:

PHOTO ART - Thursday, Oct. 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Join Nancy and Bill Uznanski of Uznanski Creations Photography and try your hand at hand coloring black and white photographs. A hit last year, people are amazed at the beauty of their work, and this year all who try it can enter a contest for a terrific prize!

MOTHER GOOSE PAJAMA TIME - Sunday, Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Pajama Story Time will feature Nancy Uznanski as Mother Goose. Participants will hear popular stories of Mother Goose and friends and even learn a thing or two about them. Then before they all leave, children will each receive a little nursery rhyme booklet to color and take home.

WATERCOLOR BOOKMARKS - Thursday, Oct. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Cyn O'Obrien will be back by popular demand as she again guides participants through a joyful experience in creating lovely watercolor book marks.

Members of the Lemont Artists Guild have partnered with the Homer Township Public Library to bring these events to the public, free of charge, as part of Illinois Arts Week to help everyone discover and enjoy some of the artistic talents they have.

''Illinois Arts Week was established in 1978 to focus attention on our state's vast cultural resources and to increase public awareness of the arts,'' states an Illinois Arts Council press release. ''Connect with the Arts'' invites all Illinoisans to establish, deepen, or expand our relationships with the arts.''
