* Get Started On Your ROOTS Contest Entry!

Are you or your child registered for the ROOTS Essay or Bookmark Contest, part of the library's Winter Reading Program and Character Counts Grant initiative? Then it's time to get started learning about your Irish, Polish, African, Chinese or other heritage!

Students in grades 4-12 will be writing an essay about culture, diversity, tradition and language. Finished essays will be posted online. Click on the following link for a copy of the essay form. www.homerlibrary.org/charactercounts/CC2008Essay.pdf

Funding for this grant was awarded by the Illinois State Library (ISL), a Division of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), under the federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
