Mystery Book Club -- Monday, September 8th at 7pm

Homer Horizon Community Meeting -- Tuesday, September 9th at 7pm
Learn more about the Homer Horizon's online community, the 22nd Street Team, through hands-on training. Homer Horizon editors will also be available to answer any questions about the newspaper or HomerHorizon.com.

Prairiesmoke Writers Group -- Wednesday, September 10th at 7pm
Stop by the monthly meeting of the library's writers group to discuss your work with other writers. New members are welcome!

Arm Chair Travelers: China -- Friday, September 12th from 1:30 - 3pm
Michael Gauer will take you on a trip to China, where you'll see the many hidden wonders and fascinating sights of this ancient country. Refreshments will be provided.

Knitting Club -- Tuesday, September 16th at 7pm
Bring your yarns and needles and join the library's monthly knitting club! Meet other knitters and view each other's projects. The group meets on the third Tuesday of every month.

Adult Book Discussion -- Wednesday, September 17th at 7:30pm
Join us as we discuss "Falling Man" by Don DeLillo. New members are welcome!

Friends of the Library Meeting -- Thursday, September 18th at 7pm
* Please note the date change! * All Friends of the Library (or those interested in becoming a Friend!) are invited to the monthly Friends meeting at the library. We'll be discussing future projects, so we'd love to hear your input!

TEENS

Teen Techies -- Wednesday, September 17th at 4:30pm
Discuss the latest trends in technology. Open to teens in 6th grade and up. New members are welcome!

Teen Manga Group -- Thursday, September 18th at 7pm
Join us as we sing anime karaoke and talk about the manga books we've been reading. Open to teens in 6th grade and up. New members are welcome!

KIDS

Family Movie Night -- Sunday, September 14th at 4:30 pm
Gather the family and head to the library for our Family Movie Night! Popcorn and beverages will be provided. Please call the library for movie title and rating.

Fall Program Sign-Up -- Monday, September 15th at 8:30am
The first day of sign-up for the library's Fall programs is on September 15th at 8:30am for in-house registration and at 12pm for phone registration. Detailed information about the programs is in our newsletter, which is available at the library or by clicking here. We hope to see you at the library this Fall!

Harvest Days and the Community Expo
The library will be participating in two community events this month! The first is Homer Glen Harvest Days at Trantina Farm (15800 W. 151st Street ). Celebrate this beautiful open space and visit us at our Tipi to hear stories about the Lakota tribe! We'll be there from 12-3pm on both Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th. The library will also have booths at the Homer Township Chamber of Commerce Community Expo! Stop by to learn more about both the library and the Friends of the Library and get some goodies, too! The Expo is on Saturday, September 20th from 9-2pm at Hadley School (15731 S Bell Rd). Stop by and say hello!
