Join us as we discuss Haunted Ground by Erin Hart and eat delicious snacks! Books are available at the library for check out, and new members are always welcome.

Stop by the monthly meeting of the library's writers group to discuss your work with other writers. New members are welcome!

All Friends of the Library (or those interested in becoming a Friend!) are invited to the monthly Friends meeting at the library. We'll be discussing future projects and fundraising ideas, and we'd love to hear your input!

Frank Klicar of the Society of American Travel Writers will guide you through Slovenia and Croatia. You'll be captivated by the beautiful landscape, charming people, and more! Light refreshments will be served.

Teen Craft: Softies -- Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30pm
The Japanese craze for plush dolls has hit Homer Glen! Make your own softies with felt and thread. We'll be sewing our dolls by hand! Open to teens in 6th grade and up.

We'll be discussing the latest trends in technology and planning ideas for future meetings. Open to teens in 6th grade and up.

Gather the family and head to the library for our Family Movie Night! Popcorn and beverages will be provided. Call the library at (708) 301-7908 for movie title and rating.

In observance of Veteran's Day, the library will be closed and bookmobile service will be suspended on Tuesday, November 11th. We will reopen Wednesday morning at 8:30 am.

When the library is closed, you can still:
+ chat online with a librarian through our ASKAWAY service
+ use our library databases
+ search our catalog.

From November 3rd to 30th, Homer Library patrons can pay off library fines with food instead of cash! Bring in one non-perishable food item and we'll waive $1 off existing fines or returned overdues. Paying for replacement fees of lost items is not included in this offer. Up to $20 in overdue fines will be waived for each donation from the following list of acceptable items:

+ 8 oz. or more can of fruits or vegetables

+ 6 oz. or more can of meat, fish, or poultry

+ 10.5 oz or more can of soup (no packaged soup please)

+ 1 box pasta, rice, or dries beans

+ 12 oz. or more box of cereal

+ 8 oz. or more jar of peanut butter

Offer valid only during the month of November. All donated food will be given to local food banks for distribution.
