More InfoSenior Tax Assistance -- Wednesday, February 4th from 9am-12pm
The Senior Services Center of Will County will be providing free tax services at the library. Walk-in basis only, with no appointment necessary. Can't make it? Tax Assistance days will also be held on February 18th, March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, April 1st, and 15th.
Go Red Girls Night Out -- Thursday, February 5th at 6:30pm
Take a break from your daily routine and enjoy a relaxing night of health education, appetizers, raffle prizes, massages, and fun with a panel of womens health experts from Loyola University Medical Center.
Mystery Book Club -- Monday, February 9th at 7pm
Start the new year with a good mystery! We'll be discussing In the Bleak Midwinter by Julia Spencer-Fleming. New members are welcome!

Get professional insight along with tricks of the trade on how to prepare your home for sale and create the perfect package to get maximum financial return.
Prairiesmoke Writers Workshop -- Wednesday, February 11th at 7pm
February marks the beginning of the library's restructured writers group! The Prairiesmoke Writers Group will now be writing workshops led by different published authors. Travis Thrasher, author of such books as Isolation and Out of the Devil's Mouth, will be leading the group on Wednesday, February 11th and Wednesday, March 11th (both sessions begin at 7pm). Travis will share his writing tips and techniques and then answer any questions the group may have. Attendees are then encouraged to share their own work with the group! Writers of all levels are encouraged to attend. Registration is not required. We hope to see you there!
Armchair Travelers: London and Paris -- Friday, February 13th from 1:30 - 3pm
Sonia Lawrentz will take you on a tour of London and Paris. Visit landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and Tower of London, then cross the Channel to view the beauty of Paris. Light refreshments will be served.
Teen Book Discussion -- Tuesday, February 3rd at 7pm
Join us as we discuss Now You See Her by Jacquelyn Mitchard and talk about any other books that we've been reading! Open to teens in 6th grade and up.
Teen Techies -- Wednesday, February 4th at 7pm
We'll be making screencasts of both OpenOffice and Microsoft Office to add to our future learning page. New members are welcome! Please note that we've changed the meeting times back to 7 pm.
Family Movie -- Sunday, February 8th at 4:30pm
Gather the family and head to the library for our Family Movie Night! Popcorn and beverages will be provided. Call the library at (708) 301-7908 for movie title and rating.
TumbleReadables: Your Online Read-Along Collection
Did you know that you can access read-along books for free from home? The Homer Library offers TumbleReadables, a collection of new and classic books for readers in preschool through high school. Read-along books are great for emergent, struggling, and reluctant readers, and are an excellent tool for ESL students. To access the collection, go to
