German POW 'Held in the Heartland' Bus-eum -- Tuesday, March 10th from 5-8pmVisit the Held in the Heartland Bus-eum, a 40-foot school bus converted into a mobile museum/classroom, to reflect on the experiences of German POWs in the Midwest during 1943-46. The unique exhibit consists of photographs and documents, DVD documentaries, artifacts, and more. Patrons can visit the Bus-eum any time between 5 and 8pm.
Prairiesmoke Writers Group -- Wednesday, March 11th at 7pmTravis Thrasher, author of such books as
Isolation and
Out of the Devil's Mouth, will be leading this meeting! Travis will share his writing tips and techniques and then answer any questions the group may have. Attendees are then encouraged to share their own work with the group! Writers of all levels are encouraged to attend. Registration is not required.

MORE INFO10 Weeks to a Tech Savvy Parent!The Homer Library is proud to announce our new online program -- 10 Weeks to a Tech Savvy Parent! This program is a FREE online course for parents, adults, and other patrons interested in learning more about popular websites and Web 2.0 tools. This course will cover introductions to the various websites and tools, discuss how these websites and tools would be useful for both adults and children, and also promote Internet safety. Participants can read articles and watch tutorial videos on tools such as online communities, blogs, RSS aggregators, video sharing and more! 10 Weeks to a Tech Savvy Parent is hosted on Learnhub's website, a social networking site for teaching and learning. UPCOMING! QuickBooks Lecture -- Wednesday, March 25th at 7pmThis seminar will teach the small business owner how to set up their company books on the computer using the accounting package QuickBooks. Topics covered will include how to set up a company file and an industry specific chart of accounts, along with the basics of how to perform accounts receivable and accounts payable functions within QuickBooks.
