Teen Open House: An Update!
Our Teen Open House party, held to celebrate the library's official opening of the new teen area, was a great success! Teens filled the library all night to decorate cupcakes and cookies, to participate in or watch the grossness of Teen Food Fear Factor (although many teens made it to the final round, Clarke finished the "cat vomit" quicker than everyone else in order to win the competition!), to win prizes and eat pizza, and to rock out to the songs of local band Carnival Heist! We'd like to thank the sponsors of the Teen Open House: Aurelio's Pizza, Cardinal Fitness, Carnival Heist, Chesdan's Pizzeria, Costco, Creamery, Jewel, Nancy's Pizza, and Pepe's! Thank you for your support!

Carson's Community Day
The Homer Library is holding a fundraiser in conjunction with Carson Pirie Scott! Patrons can purchase a $5 Carson's coupon book to receive one $10 off coupon good on almost any merchandise item, eight Carson's store coupons for 20-30% off, and five exclusive Bonus Buy merchandise offers! Coupons and offers can be used to shop Carson's Community Day on Saturday, November 14th. Booklets are available for purchase at the library's circulation desk for only $5, and 100% of that donation goes to the Homer Library!

Author Fair
The Homer Library is excited to announce that our 4th Annual Author Fair will be held at the library on Monday, October 19th from 7-9pm. Meet the people behind the stories! Throughout the night, local authors will give short talks discussing their books, writing methods, and/or publication process. All authors will have tables throughout the library, at which they will sell and sign their books and also answer questions from patrons. Authors of childrens, teen, and adult books will be at the Author Fair: Norm Cowie, Carolyn Crimi, Philip Kledzik, George Kulles, Lisa Mallen, Helen Osterman, Sheila Welch, and Cheryl Woodson. This event is a true celebration of reading and writing, so we hope to see you there!
