ADULTS & SENIORS

Mystery Book Discussion -- Monday, January 11th at 7pm
This month we'll be discussing Mudbound by Hilary Jordan! New members are encouraged to attend the group -- we are fun and friendly! Books are available at the library for check out.

Prairiesmoke Writers Group -- Wednesday, January 13th at 7pm
Stop by the monthly meeting of the library's writers group! You're invited to discuss your work with other writers and have fun with some group writing assignments. New members are welcome! Writers of all levels are encouraged to attend. Registration is not required.

TEENS

Teen Book Discussion -- Tuesday, January 5th at 7pm
Did you read If I Stay by Gayle Forman? If so, join us for a lively discussion! For teens in 6th grade and up. Books are available at the library for check out. Next month's selection is Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz!

Teen Advisory Board Meeting -- Thursday, January 14th at 7pm
Teens in grades 9-12 are invited to attend the library's Teen Advisory Board meetings! Share your input on upcoming projects and programs, and have some fun while doing so! Members will receive volunteer hours for attending TAB meetings (you'll get snacks, too!). New members are welcome!

KIDS

Bookmobile Winter Reading Program: Jan. 4th -- Feb. 27th

Read like a champion! The Bookmobile's Winter Reading Program begins on January 4th. Readers of all ages are encouraged to participate. Skate to the finish for your chance to win special prizes!

Program Sign-Up: Tuesday, Jan. 19th
Copies of the Winter/Spring 2010 newsletter are being printed right now, but you can find a sneak peek of it on our website -- click here to read it from home! Inside the newsletter you will find information on the upcoming programs at the library and on the bookmobile. In-person registration for all programs begins on Tuesday, January 19th at 8:30 am, and telephone registration begins at noon on that same day. We hope to see you and your family at a program soon!

Energy 2010: A Teen Leadership Academy
Applications are now available for the 2010 session of Energy: A Teen Leadership Academy! Interested teens can pick one up at the library or print one out from home by clicking here. This award-winning academy aims to help create youth leaders who will assume leadership roles throughout the community. Teens will commit to attending three library programs (on topics such as college preparation and communication skills) and fulfill a service requirement at the library. Participation in this academy will look impressive on college applications and resumes, and it's also fun! Energy is open to teens in grades 9-12. Applicants do not have to be residents of Homer Township. The deadline for applications is February 15, 2009.
