ADULTS AND SENIORS

Senior Tax Assistance -- Wednesday, March 17th & 24th from 9am-noon
The AARP and the Senior Services Center of Will County will be providing free tax services at the Homer Library. Please bring the following items: photo ID, proof of social security number & dependent, all income statements, all deductions to be claimed, last years federal and state returns, and your property pin number. First come, first served, on a walk-in basis only. Can't make it? Tax Assistance days will also be held on March 31st, April 7th, and 14th.

How Smart Consumers Select a Remodeling Contractor -- Monday, March 15th at 7pm
Year after year, remodeling places in the top five among complaints to the Better Business Bureau. Learn the method for selecting the right company and enjoying a positive remodeling experience.

Adult Book Discussion -- Wednesday, March 17th at 7:30pm
Join us as we discuss Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris. New members are welcome! Books are available at the library for check out.

Chick Lit Book Discussion -- Tuesday, March 23rd at 7pm
We'll be discussing Harvesting the Heart by Jodi Picoult! New members are welcome. Books are available at the library for check out.

Credit Score 101 -- Thursday, March 25th at 7pm
A representative from The Private Bank will provide detailed information about credit scores and what you should know about your credit score.

TEENS

Teen Manga Group -- Thursday, March 18th at 7pm
This month we'll learn a quick introduction into making anime music videos! For teens in 6th grade & up.

ACT Essay Writing: Date Change
Due to a scheduling conflict, the ACT Essay Writing program for teens has been rescheduled from Wednesday, March 24th to Tuesday, March 30th at 7pm. In this workshop, students begin by writing a practice esay under timed, test-like conditions. You'll get advice to help you recognize what essay graders are looking for, as well as strategies on writing effective essays. Sponsored by Kaplan. Registration encouraged.

KIDS

Build a Bunny -- Saturday, March 20th at 10am or noon
Make your own stuffy bunny bear. For children of all ages. Registration required. There is a $10 fee required at sign up.

Easter Craft -- Tuesday, March 23rd at 4:30pm
Celebrate the coming of Easter with a kids craft!

Peter Rabbit Tea Party -- Thursday, March 25th at 6:30pm or Saturday, March 27th at 10:30am
Kids ages 5-8 are invited to join us for the classic tale of naughty Peter's escape from Mr. McGregor's garden and a tea party! Space is limited, so registration is required.

Chick It Out!
The Homer Library is excited to announce Chick It Out, a unique library event featuring the incubation and hatching of live chicks! Beginning April 20th, patrons can visit the library to see the eggs in the incubator or view our 24 hour live webcam from our website. Programs celebrating Chick It Out begin on March 14th, including these eggs-cellent events:

3/29: Drop in all ages kids craft from 11am-2pm. Make a flying chick!
3/31: Youth Activity Committee meeting (for teens in 5th-8th grade) at 4:30pm. Decorate the library with stringed eggs!
4/8: Teen Advisory Board meeting (for teens in high school) at 7pm. Make Twinkie chicks!
4/20: The arrival of the eggs! Don't miss the special delivery! An exact time of delivery will be announced soon.
4/20: All ages kids chick craft at 4:30pm. Make a chick card!
4/27: Chick Lit Book Discussion for adults at 7pm.
4/29: Drop in teen craft (for teens in 6th grade & up) from 6-8pm. Make an eggs-traordinary egg pot!
5/2: Family Movie Event at 4:30pm. Come enjoy a movie and popcorn!

3/14-5/5: Peeps eggs-treme video/photo contest
4/12-5/5: Eggs-ceptional coloring contest
4/19-5/5: Guess the eggs-act hatch date contest
