ADULTS & SENIORS

Frozen Sorbets -- Monday, August 2nd at 7pm
Enjoy the lighter side of the heavenly frozen desserts universe with fruit sorbets that will trip your switch! Chef Michael Niksic will share his restaurant proven sorbet recipes. A cold tasting of these frozen delights are included in the program!

Prairiesmoke Writers Club -- Wednesday, August 11th at 7pm
Stop by the monthly meeting of the library's writers group! You're invited to discuss your work with other writers and have fun with some group writing assignments. New members are welcome! Writers of all levels are encouraged to attend. Registration is not required.

TEENS

Teen Book Club -- Tuesday, August 3rd at 7pm
Join us for a discussion of the mystery novel Fake ID by Walter Sorrells! Snacks will be provided. For teens in 6th grade and up.

Teen Advisory Board -- Thursday, August 12th at 7pm
Teens in high school are invited to join the library's Teen Advisory Board! Teens provide feedback on the library's teen collection and programs. Members receive one hour of community service for each meeting attended. For teens in grades 9-12.

KIDS

Bookmobile Event: Tic-Tac-Toe -- August 2-11
Have fun playing Tic-Tac-Toe and be a friend to the earth! Stop by the Bookmobile to make your own travel game out of a recycled CD case! Want to know if the Bookmobile stops in your neighborhood? Call the library at (708) 301-7908!

Used Book Sale
Our annual Used Book Sale is quickly approaching! We are accepting donations from August 3-12 during library hours. We accept books, music, and movies. Unfortunately, we cannot accept magazines, Reader's Digest Condensed, encyclopedias, or damaged items. There is a preview sale for Friends of the Library members on Thursday, August 12th from 5-8:30pm. The sale is open to the public on Friday, August 13th from 9am-4pm; on Saturday, August 14th from 9am-3:30pm; and on Monday, August 16th from 9am-3pm. Hope to see you there!

Download eBooks and audiobooks with Omni Libraries!
The Homer Library now offers access to a catalog of eBooks and audiobooks through Omni Libraries. To get started, click on the Omni Overdrive Libraries link (found in the right column, second from the bottom) on our database page. Click on the "Quick Start Guide" found on the left side of the screen to get you on your way! To see if your device is compatible with this service, click on the "Supported Portable Audio Devices" or "Supported Portable eBook Devices" links also found on the left side of the screen.
