Prairiesmoke Writers Group -- Wednesday, November 10th at 7pm
Stop by the monthly meeting of the library's writers group! You're invited to discuss your work with other writers and have fun with some group writing assignments. New members are welcome! Writers of all levels are encouraged to attend. Registration is not required.
Armchair Travelers: Ireland -- Friday, November 12th at 1:30pm
Explore the history and beauty of Ireland with George Reuss. From Dublin to Blarney to the world famous Waterford Crystal Factory, you’ll discover the country’s gorgeous castles, seaside towns, and landmarks.

Medicare Part D -- Friday, November 19th at 10am
An explanation of the Medicare Prescription Drug program. It covers eligibility, enrollment, the coverage gap, and tips on how to choose the right plan for you.
TEENSACT Practice Test -- Saturday, November 13th at 10amA fully-proctored practice ACT will show teens what to expect in a test-like environment. Teens will receive a comprehensive analysis of your performance on the test, detailing individual strengths and weaknesses. Test scores will be provided at the ACT 101 program on November 29. Sponsored by Kaplan. Registration is required.
Youth Activity Committee Meeting -- Wednesday, November 17th at 4:30pm
The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a fun group that undertakes projects and volunteers for community events. New members are always welcome. For more information, contact Miss Kitty @ 708 301-7908. Get into the DIY spirit! Participants will view examples of zines (self-published mini magazines), learn how to create their own zine, and contribute to a zine we'll make at the workshop. For teens in grades 5-8.
Teen Manga Group -- Thursday, November 18th at 7pm
Join us for our monthly celebration of all things manga and anime! Each meeting is different (sometimes we'll watch anime, play a manga-related game, recommend our favorite manga series, have a cosplay party, etc.) but it's always FUN! For teens in 6th grade and up.
KIDSKids Movie: Rescheduled for Monday, November 22nd at 1pmDue to a scheduling conflict, the childrens movie that was to be shown on Saturday, November 13th at 1pm has been moved to Monday, November 22nd at 1pm. School's out for Thanksgiving that week, so why not spend some time enjoying a movie and popcorn at the library? Please call (708) 301-7908 for the movie title (rated PG) and length.
Reptile Club -- Sunday, November 14th at 6pmJoin us as we learn about reptiles through a variety of fun activities. For grades 2 and up.
Thanksgiving Craft -- Tuesday, November 16th at 4:30pmCelebrate the Thanksgiving season by making a Cornucopia Door Sign. There is a $3.00 fee for this craft. To secure your on-line registration, fee must be paid within three days at the library.
Bookmobile Event: Family Reading NightGet prepared for Family Reading Night! From November 8-17, pick up and complete the form entitled "What We Read Together...". Return the form by December 1 for a chance to win a family entertainment prize!
MORE INFONational Game DayStop by the library on Saturday, November 13th to celebrate National Gaming Day! We'll have gaming during open library hours. There will be board games for all ages, Super Mario Kart in the teen section, and lots of fun! This is a drop-in event, so no registration is required. Game on!
Library Closed
In observance of Veterans Day, the library will be closed on Thursday, November 11th. Bookmobile service will also be suspended for the day. We will reopen Friday morning at 8:30 am. Thank you to those who have served our country! As for special Thanksgiving hours, the library will close at 5pm on Wednesday, November 24th and then be closed all day on Thursday, November 25th. We will reopen Friday, November 26th at 8:30am. Have a yummy Thanksgiving!
Holiday Fundraisers at the Library
Throughout December, the library will be holding various holiday fundraising events. Patrons can purchase homemade gift bags decorated by trained teen volunteers or have their presents wrapped by volunteers for a small donation. It's a chance to get going on your holiday to-do list and support the library at the same time! Gift bags will be available for purchase at the beginning of December, and gift wrapping sessions begin on December 9th. Thank you for your support!
