MORE INFO

Library Closed
The library will be closed on Monday, January 17th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Bookmobile service will also be suspended for the day. We will reopen on Tuesday morning at 8:30 am.

Text Message Services
Did you know that you can receive text messages regarding available holds, items that are due soon, overdue items, fees (and more!) from the library? ShoutBomb is our text messaging service, and it's easy to use! Your mobile plan’s regular text-messaging rates will apply. Brochures are available at the circulation and help desks explaining the service and how it works.

Tax Forms
Due to mid-December tax revisions made by Congress, tax forms and instruction booklets are being sent out later than in past years. The library currently has a limited number of tax forms and instructions, which we are making available as soon as we receive them. You can, however, print out forms on the IRS's website, found here. You can also request forms to be sent directly to you from the IRS; more information is here.

Download eBooks and Audiobooks with Omni Libraries!
Did you get an eReader as a holiday gift? If so, you'll be happy to know that the Homer Library offers access to a catalog of eBooks and audiobooks through Omni Libraries. To get started, go to our home page and in the column on the right side titled "Databases" click on the Omni Overdrive link (second from the bottom). Click on the "Quick Start Guide" found on the left side of the screen to get you on your way! To see if your device is compatible with this service, click on the "Supported Portable Audio Devices" or "Supported Portable eBook Devices" links also found on the left side of the screen. Have questions? Check out Omni Overdrive's "digital help" or "check out assistance" guides, or contact the Adult Services Department at (708) 301-7908.

Winter Reading Club: Feed Your Mind!
The Bookmobile's Winter Read Club begins on Tuesday, January 18th! The main library's WRC starts a little later on Monday, January 31st. Readers of all ages are encouraged to "feed your mind" by signing up and reading. Participants will have a chance to win delicious prizes, so we hope you'll join in the fun!
