ADULTS & SENIORS

Adult Book Discussion -- Wednesday, May 18th at 7:30pm
Join us as we discuss Great House by Nicole Krauss! Books are available at the library for check out. New members are welcome!

Senior County Assessments -- Friday, May 20th at 1pm
The Will County Supervisor of Assessment Office will discuss property assessments, exemptions,and appeal filings. They will answer questions and make sure taxpayers are educated and enlightened on how the assessment process work.

Chick Lit Book Discussion -- Tuesday, May 24th at 7pm
Did you read Seven Year Switch by Claire Cook? If so, tell us what you thought! We are a fun & friendly group. New members are welcome!

Candy! Candy! Candy! -- Wednesday, May 25th at 7pm
Come join Sue Peltzer, owner of Delicious Creations in Hickory Hill, as she teaches you to make a turtle, chocolate pretzel, ice cream cone, and chocolate covered raisins. Registration required.

TEENS

Teen Manga Group -- Thursday, May 19th at 7pm
Love manga & anime? Come hang out at out Teen Manga Group meetings! We watch anime episodes, play manga-inspired games, & more. For teens in 6th grade & up.

Youth Activity Committee Meeting -- Wednesday, May 25th at 4:30pm
Summer is almost here! Come celebrate with us -- we'll be eating pizza and playing games on the Wii Kinect. For teens in 5th-8th grade. Please RSVP to Kitty at (708) 301-7908 or Kitty@homerlibrary.org.

KIDS

Bookmobile Event: Summer, Sweet Summer
Sweets and surprises spell summer fun! A sampling of seasonal items will be stuffed in a jar for your estimating pleasure. Visit the Bookmobile from May 23 - June 1 to get in on the fun! Click here to see a schedule of Bookmobile stops.

Teen Intern Program Applications: Available Now!
Applications for the Teen Intern Program are now online (via our website). Hours worked during the program can be used for service hour requirements. It is open to teens in grades 6-12 (as of Fall 2011), and the schedule is based on first come, first served. For more information, including links to the applications, please click here.

Butterfly Habitat
In addition to the eggs that will hopefully be hatching next week, we are now also home to a butterfly habitat! Stop in the library to see them grow from tiny eggs to beautiful butterflies, and sign our butterfly journal!
